Role Summary
We’re looking for a passionate Project Associate (preferably with a background in wildlife biology or ecology) to support our flagship initiatives in Dharkot, Tehri Garhwal, and coordinate associated work from Dehradun. You'll play a key role in upcoming projects like the Nature Guide Certification Program for local youth and the Himalayan Serow Conservation Project supported under WWF India's Conservation Collective Program (CCP).
📌 This is a one-year position, with the potential to transition into a full-time, paid role based on performance and funding.
Key Responsibilities
Field-Based (Dharkot, Tehri Garhwal)
Coordinate and support implementation of programs run in partnership with local community in Dharkot, Tehri Garhwal
Assist with field research, data collection, and community outreach for the Himalayan Serow Conservation Project.
Facilitate biodiversity walks, citizen science initiatives, awareness workshops, and field engagement with local youth and community members.

Dehradun-Based
Manage project logistics, documentation, and communication.
Prepare field reports, case studies, and communication material in coordination with the core team.
Liaise with local institutions, collaborators, and stakeholders for project partnerships and outreach.
Candidate Profile
Degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or allied fields.
Interest or experience in community-based conservation and citizen science.
Physically fit and comfortable with trekking, fieldwork, and extended time in rural/remote areas of Uttarakhand.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with local communities and stakeholders; empathetic and culturally sensitive.
Self-motivated, relationship-oriented, and enthusiastic about grassroots, place-based work.
